Acropolonians Get Fit by doing ToughMudder
On 10/14/2012 16 Acropolonians attempted and conquered an 11 mile endurance event held in Poplar Bluff, Missouri called the ToughMudder (http://toughmudder.com). The ToughMudder is a race that is held throughout the country that challenges it contestants both physically and mentally and focuses on teamwork and your ability to overcome.
The Physical and the Mental:
The race itself consists of an 11 mile slog through water, mud, creeks, and fields with 25 military style obstacles with names like; “Arctic Enema”, “Berlin Walls”, “Underwater Tunnels”, “Everest”, and our personal favorite “Electric Eel.” Many obstacles focus on the physical challenge and team work while others focus on overcoming your fears. Some of them can be found by clicking “here”
The great news is that all 16 of us completed the race. The bad news is that most of the group want to do it again.
Here are some pictures of the day for you enjoyment:
That was a lot of work for a headband and a beer!
We weren’t very muddy at this point, we were only a mile in
